Day 4 - June 17th, 2010 Big Timber, MT to Big Timber, MT

This day provided a day of rest as the wind really picked up over night.  Winds were a constant 40 mph plus with gusts even higher.  Easy decision to "camp out" at the Super 8 for an additional 24 hours.

A restaurant, bar, and casino next door kept everyone entertained.  Overnight, the local news reported that a lady was killed north of us in MT when her house was blown apart by a micro-burst wind gust.  By 10:30 in the morning, the parking lot looked like a motorcycle rally was being held at our motel.  A red Goldwing rider described the wind on I-90 as "the most scary he'd ever ridden in".

A little rest for the weary traveler.

This day put us a little behind the loose schedule we had.  Glacier National Park's Going to the Sun road was still closed so we made the decision to head straight north past the east side of Glacier park towards Calgary the next day to make up some time.
